Lovrinci, Eastern Croatia, 1991. Kuzma Glavan, a middle-aged carpenter struggling to provide for his sickly mother, starts a relationship with the much younger Ana Šokčević, a teacher at the village school. The parents of both parties object to this relationship, however, they persist and soon their whirlwind romance…
