There is a lot of Terror on Elm Street over this movie, but it is less imaginative and the characters are far more interchangeable. This lessens the tension as you don't get invested in their fates to any significant degree. It is an interesting premise and with a completely unnecessary twist and while the antagonist is great, it doesn't quite pull it off for me in the way that Freddy might have.
